Duplicate posts bother me

<rant>

I subscribe to a number of different blogs, most of them internet marketing related.  Something that really bothers me is when one internet marketer posts on their blog and then all of the other one’s have to follow.

The one I recently caught is when Webmastertalk and that other place merged together.  Like 4 of the blogs I read had to go and post pretty much the same thing.  I’ve seen it once already, I don’t think I need to see it again1!1

Hope everyone has a good weekend, talk to you guys soon.

EK+IT+AO=IR –> Formula For Adsense Excellence

I know I mentioned a few times that I was working on something pretty big that I couldn’t wait to show you guys.  Well, today is the day!  Me and my man Stewart McKay just opened our pride and joy Adsense Excellence to the public.

Basically the site is meant to teach and help others make tons of money using Google Adsense.  There are a vast amount of tutorials and a bunch of other stuff to help you learn the ropes.  The hope is that you’ll learn many things you never thought you would, the best part is that it’s all FREE.

One of the other features I am proud of is that soon we will be handing out 10 quality Adsense Templates each month to the subscribers of our Upgraded program (which I think is only going to be $20/month).  Mind you these won’t be the crappy cookie cutter templates you get from other places.  These are going to be 100% unique and custom from any other site, fully coded and ready to go.

Anyway, as you can probably tell I am pretty excited, so i’ll just let you check it out for your self.

Good Luck,

P.S. Sorry for sounding like a sales page :)

Picking A Bad Name For Your Business = NO Success.

Many people don’t realize how important it really is to choose a good name for your business. I’ve been thinking about this on and off today and came up with a little insight that I thought I would share.

For starters take Google, do you think Google would be where it is today if it would have been named something else? As an example, do you think if Google would have been named “Yahoo” and the current Yahoo named “Google” instead, that they would still be on top of the internet world like they are today?

I think having a good and unique name for your company or business is very important. So many times I have come across businesses or companies with names that are cheesy or non-unique. Often times names like that can deter me from going with that business entirely.

Business names can tell people a lot about your company. How it functions, how reputable it is, etc. By using different names for your business I believe that you can “imply” a lot of different emotions like how “bad-ass”, “professional”, or “creative” your company is. You can also connect to your customers by coming up with a name that helps them feel more comfortable.

Sticking with the Google example, I think “Google” works out really well. When I think of the word “Google”, other words like “fun”, “happy”, and even “down-to-earth” come to mind. Now keep in mind that I do have some bias because I already know what kind of company Google is, but I still think the name of their company played a big role in how I feel about them today, and it is one of the main reasons why I keep going back.

The main point I’m trying to make is the name of your company plays a bigger role than you think in how successful it’s going to be or what people are going to think about it. Even after they know about your business and what it’s all about.

Another example would be all of the affiliate networks like “Commission Junction“, “Azoogle Ads“, “NeverBlueAds“, etc. What feelings or thoughts do the names of those companies convey in your mind? Think about this question not only before but also after you have been to their sites and know what they are all about.

Also note that having a good name for your business also goes way beyond this into the realm of “branding” and the like.

Well there’s a little insight for you all, hope it makes some sense.

Nick

“Gambling” on a Casino Affiliate Site

Today’s post is a guest post about casino affiliate sites coming from Emilia @ http://www.affiliatetips.com/. Looks like a cool site, Thanks!

Are you on the lookout for a great affiliate program? Start with doing your homework and compare affiliate programs on the market today. You’ll find that there are some very lucrative ones and one segment that really stands out is casino affiliate programs.
Casino affiliate programs have some of the best payouts of all affiliate programs. In addition, as a relatively new medium, online gambling is a hugely expanding market. So, if you are at all interested in online poker and affiliate marketing, these affiliate programs are a good place to start.

Online casino affiliates work a little differently than other types of affiliates. In the typical model, an affiliate marketer puts up a series of links on a third-party website. In many cases, a poker affiliate link is on the site of another casino, as many casinos run on the same network.

If you are a budding affiliate marketer, chances are you’re not in the market to starting an online casino from the ground up. What this does mean is that there are ample opportunities for casino marketers to bring in a profit — not just from the main casino but a vast number of smaller casinos all on the same network.

Knowledge Of The Casino Business

Affiliate marketers have many choices when looking toward the casino demographic. A number of affiliate sites rate different web casinos. Other affiliate sites may include a forum for players trade tips and tricks on different casino games. One thing is certain with casino affiliate marketing — it helps a great deal if you have some knowledge on the topic at hand, especially if you are including relevant content.

You should include a fair amount of web content on your site to both attract new visitors and rank high in search engines. For example, if you link to Texas hold’em affiliates, you are going to want to provide a fair amount of copy about the game and its variations. The game is fairly complicated and something many web owners can’t handle. It is possible to outsource content writing to a content writing firm, but you will have to weigh how this cuts into your future profit line. Overall, since casinos have such a great payout and conversion rate, it is a viable affiliate opportunity.

Competition With Online Casino Affiliates

Since there is such potential for profitability with casino affiliate marketing, many affiliate sites are already up and running. This doesn’t yet mean that the field is oversaturated because many casino affiliate sites are no more than the typical spam blog with a few affiliate links. There is still an opening for new affiliate marketers to reach out to this growing demographic.

As time goes on, many people are becoming more comfortable with the idea of online gambling. As online casinos become more a part of everyday life, new players are coming on board who may have been worried about the legality or legitimacy of online gambling in the past. It is one of the fastest growing industries online.

Even if there are a fair number of casino affiliate sites already in existence, the number of new sign-ups plus the high commission for card and casino affiliates make it a profitable opportunity for an affiliate.

If any of you would like to make a guest post just let me know! I’ve been really busy lately and not having much time to update the site myself :(, so I would have to say this is a great opportunity if you have anything informative you would like to share!

As usual, comments and subscriptions are also appreciated!

Thanks,
Nick

My Current Thoughts On April Fools

  • Awesome April Fools jokes to those that I have seen like Darren at ProBlogger, Paul over at UberAffiliate, John Chow, or even Atmosphere!
  • The People who are unsubscribing to these bloggers because of their jokes make me LOL. I think some people need to get a sense of humor and settle down. As a blogger myself, I really don’t care if someone is going to unsubscribe because of a joke. Personally, I would rather not even have those people subscribed to my blog in the first place.

    What are your thoughts?

  • I feel bad that I don’t have my own April Fools joke set up. Would have been a fun time
  • I need to stop being lazy
  • One of my favorite groups Atmoshpere just released their new Sad Clown Bad Spring EP and it’s awesome. Not only that but it’s free!

Have a good april fools day everyone!

P.S. I have something special for you guys coming within the next couple days, make sure you check back if you want to be a part of it!

My WordPress 2.5 Upgrade Adventure

I just made the switch to the newly released version 2.5 of WordPress!

It’s totally different then the old one and I’m loving it so far. Especially the one click plugin upgrades and the fixed wysiwyg editor.

Only thing that went wrong as you can probably tell is that all of my uploaded files are gone! When I uploaded the files the entire folders of information got overwritten so I have to re-make all of my screenshots. So that’s the project of the day for tomorrow, getting all my images working again.

Just a perfect reason to make a back-up before you install it. It even said that, but of course I thought I was just a pro in the game and didn’t need to. LOL

Well I hope the installation goes alright for you. It would be cool to hear about other people’s favorite parts about the new version, so if you have any just shoot me a comment!

Hilarious John Chow

I know just about everyone is going to start throwing this on their blog and it’s going to get old really fast, but I’m sorry I just had to!

This is famous blogger John Chow unexpectedly being one the funniest comedians I have ever heard.

I wanted to throw this up not only for your entertainment… but so that I can come back easily so I can share it with others.

Funny Stuff!

[New]: My World Of Warcraft Resources Page

A lot of my friends were having trouble downloading the “Quest Helper” add-on for World Of Warcraft off of curse.com because it’s been really slow lately. I ended up uploading it to my website so that some people I know could download it without having to deal with slow loading times.

I think it might have something to do with the new 2.4 patch and curse.com is probably getting a ton of traffic of people trying to download new add-ons that work with the patch.

Anyways, what started out as a simple file upload ended up turning into a full “mini-site” (I was bored) of resources. Well right now I only have the Quest Helper add-on, but in the future as I find some other cool stuff i’ll keep adding it and i’ll see where this little site goes. Who knows.

So at this point, if you still haven’t gotten the updated version of the best add-on ever, you can do it by visiting my little World Of Warcraft page by clicking here!

For those of you who don’t play “WoW” or don’t give a crap about what I just said, i’m sorry. I’ll make sure to think up a more worthwhile post to make for tomorrow.
